Countertop Bar Delights with Running Waterfall and Built-in Firepit

This seamless, poured-in-place countertop features a waterfall (closest to the BBQ grill), that travels down the bartop and spills into a firepit. The pit is filled with water and circulates back to the waterfall. When the water falls into the pit, fire ignites and comes up through the water. The grill is a display for a new kitchen company in the Tampa Bay area.

Approximately 10' long, the bar is divided into two separate pieces which creates a trench for the water to travel through. Shirestone's patented mix was used for the countertops, waterfall and bar. The project was colored to blend and complement the stones on the face. Three colors of dye were used. The countertop was also hand-painted with veining for an aged look. The veining was carried over the double-bevel edges to create a more natural look of stone.

Texture on the bartop was created from a combination of the coloring method, troweling and texture skins. The hand embellishing (veining) gives the illusion of texture and dimension.
